ABOUT Voluntary Principles on Security Human Rights

The Voluntary Principles are designed to help extractive companies maintain the safety and security of their operations within an operating site. It is a framework that guarantees respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and, where applicable, international humanitarian rights. Since then, other companies, governments and NGOs have joined the initiative, and many other companies have publicly reported that they are implementing the VPs at their operational sites.
